Bio: I'm a hobbyist photographer living in Leeds, England, where I'm completing a PhD in Philosophy. (My current research is in general metaphysics, but I have additional long-term interests throughout ethics, epistemology, and philosophy of science as well.)
Originally from Pennsylvania, my interest in taking photos began as a graduate student in the Florida Panhandle, where I was blessed with easy access to fantastic wildlife and pristine beaches along the "Forgotten Coast" south of Tallahassee. It became a more serious hobby after I moved to the UK in 2016 and discovered Britain's incredible array of landscapes. I'm interested in all the fun stuff: landscapes, nature, wildlife, street photography, and more.
Gear: I started with Canon (T3i/600D and then 7D Mark II) but now mainly shoot with a Nikon D810 and D7200. I use Samyang 14mm f/2.8 (manual focus), Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8, Nikon 70-200mm f/4, Samyang 85mm f/1.4 (manual focus), and Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 lenses. I've also got a pocket-sized Fujifilm X-T20 for use with vintage lenses, including my favorite - a Soviet Helios 44-2 58mm f/2. I edit in Adobe Camera Raw with a few minor adjustments in Photoshop, applying a light touch to try to keep things realistic. I recently purchased a DJI Mavic Air 2 to give drone photography (and maybe videography) a shot. Happy to provide info and advice about any of these, or the various accessories I use, if you're interested.
